Spring to Health Walking Club
Please Join the Cheverly Family Health and Wellness Center every Monday from 12 noon – 1:00 pm and Wednesday from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm to Walk for Your Health.
The Walking Club, led by Dr. Evangeline Obi is geared towards improving employee health and promoting wellness in the workplace. Research conducted by the American Heart Association shows that every hour of regular vigorous exercise, like walking, leads to 2 hours of life expectancy gain. Research also conducted by the American Heart Association has shown that walking at least 30 minutes a day can help you:
•Reduce your risk of coronary heart disease and stroke
•Improve your blood pressure, blood sugar levels and blood lipid profile
•Maintain your body weight and lower the risk of obesity
•Enhance your mental well-being
•Reduce your risk of osteoporosis
•Reduce your risk of breast and colon cancer
•Reduce your risk of non-insulin dependent (type 2) diabetes
The Walking Club is open to anyone interested in improving and maintaining good health. Members can achieve a number of health and wellness benefits, including; free weight tracking, gifts for the biggest loser, and free medical updates to healthy living.
